For the Whole in the part exhibition I've made two completely identical, but different sized drawing machine drawings. The inspiration came from constructivist drawings. Russian constructivist artists propagated their political views through their works of art using them as propaganda tools. The line of the constructivist drawing lacks any individualism and tries to get rid of the individual stylistic features of its author. Constructivists often used tools (compass, ruler, protractor), as the line created by devices does not have individual traits, so it can be reproduced by anyone. In the socialist world order everyone is equal, everything is public domain. There is no place for commercialized art that would be meaningless for works of art that is freely and authentically reproducible by anyone. I've transformed (actually I've finished) a Ljubov Popova drawing, which was originally made by hand with a pencil, into a digital drawing using a Kongsberg plotter, have it drawn onto a canvas. This drawing can be authentically reproduced by anyone, the machine always draws the lines to the same place with perfect precision. Like the constructivists, I used a tool to create the drawing that removed any trace of individuality from the work of art and made the drawing reproducible by anyone (even without any professional knowledge) by the press of a button.
